On Friday, May 20, 2022, Burke Energy team members joined Feeding Westchester and 10 other teams from many other local companies in a competition to pack the largest amount of food in the shortest amount of time to help neighbors in their fight against hunger. The winning team was awarded the Golden Scoop trophy.
This event helped distribute food to Feeding Westchester’s network of 225 partners throughout Westchester and was a great way for everyone who participated to give back through volunteering while providing employees a unique and engaging team-building opportunity. Each of the 11 teams who participated packed 300 meal kits for families in need, with a total of over 3,300 meals packed! Participants also competed to raise the most funds for Feeding Westchester’s mission and take home the title of top fundraising team. Every dollar raised helped provide three meals!
The Burke Energy team may not have won the Golden Scoop but had a fantastic time competing with the other teams, helping put food on the table for those fighting hunger. The Burke Energy team included Liz Gross. Danielle Suppa, Gary Redlon, Phil Barone, Liz Sarles, Sandra Marable, John Burns, Joanna DelRio, Robert Carlisto, Amy Delva, Tom Bouton, Lynne Biddle and Chris Langanke.
Burke Energy is delighted to be a part of this important local Feeding Westchester event. Thanks to everyone involved for their help.
